Luncheon Favorites

Part of Southern culture is meeting friends for lunch, whether it be a quick get together or a full course meal! Downtown Franklin is the perfect place for these outings. Some of my favorites are as follows:

Merridee's Breadbasket

- Located at 110 4th Avenue South
- Merridee's menu offers the perfect combination of Southern homemade classics, with the casual atmosphere of a luncheon café
- Breads and pastries are baked fresh each day
- Local favorites are egg salad sandwiches on Viking bread (whole grain), chicken salad sandwiches on egg bread, and homemade fruit tea
- Visit Merridee's Breadbasket for full menu, hours of operation, and daily specials!

Dotson's Restaurant

Located at 88 East Main Street
- Dotson's has been renowned as one of the most popular restaurants in Downtown Franklin  for the past 65 years, with reasonable prices and family recipes passed down through the decades
- Dotson's has been featured on television programs such as Martha Stewart, and various programs on Food Network
- Famous lunch dishes are fried chicken, turnip greens, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and homemade biscuits

Franklin Mercantile Deli

- Located at 100 4th Avenue North
- Franklin Mercantile Deli is the perfect luncheon location for families with small children, or parties who desire a cozy, family-style setting in which to dine
- Franklin Mercantile is popular for their creative sandwiches, which are reasonably priced between $7.25 and $7.50
- Local favorites are Mable's Pecan Chicken Salad sandwich, Classic BLT, and Patti's Pimento Cheese sandwich
